In today’s Fitness Minute Parker Lennon, lifetime runner, marathoner, and triathlete, describes the pros and cons of Running. Running is the easiest way to do cardio (natural, requires no gym), running events are widely available, and there are tons of like minded individuals to train with… The big problems are the impact on joints, and risk of overuse injury. This is why I recommend that clients with these injuries swim, walk, or find low impact exercise. Running has such a big push in fitness because runners have lower Body Fat, blood pressure, and instances of cardiovascular disease.
